Saratoga is a gen Star Trek: TNG anthology in the form of graphic novels.

Issue 1

cover of issue #1, Thena MacArthur

Saratoga 1 was published in 1989 (reprinted in 1991) and contains 30 pages.

It is the adventures of the USS Saratoga, written by Taylor MacAndrews and Micheal S. Mears, art by Thena MacArthur, lettering by David Shultz, edited by Robert Roeder and Thena MacArthur.

From the zine: "For those of you who are new, you're asking yourself, 'what is this?' It's our version of a graphic novel. And, who are 'we?' We are Mac Art Productions, a group of enterprising (no pun intended), energetic (if not twisted) artists, writers, and enthusiasts. Needless to say, this graphic novel is an effort by fans of the TV series, who hope that it serves as a tribute to both their own talents but also the creative genius of the people who created STAR TREK in the first place."

Issue 2

Saratoga 2 was published in 1991 and contains 30 pages.

cover of issue #2, Thena MacArthur

It continues the adventures of the USS Saratoga. Written by Taylor MacAndrews and Micheal Scott Mears, art by Thena E. MacArthur, lettering by Thena E. MacArthur, edited by David Shultz and Marcus McCowan.

From the editorial: "Here we are again. Issue #2. Didn't think we'd make it, did you. Been waiting, you say? Complaining already, 'Where's issue #3?' Worry not, issue #3 is 9/10ths finished, and the printer is anxiously waiting. However, we are sorry to say that after issue #3, which will conclude this story, our format needs to change. If you've been following this from the very beginning, then you know just how long this has taken us. If you haven't, just look at Tasha Yar in the opening pages of issue #1 and know that she was still alive when issue #1 was being drawn. Issue #4 will be stories, in text form, with many, many illustrations. A little more like your conventional fanzine, but we will try to illustrate it more than normal. That means that we need authors and artists. Mac Art Productions will be giving out a Writer's Guide, The Guide is necessary if we are to keep continuity and not step on any toes, such as Paramount Pictures'. That's important. As you well know, Mac Art Productions didn't create STAR TREK and we fans have been graciously allowed to publish fanzines without official comment, Let's not be greedy or ungrateful."

Issue 3

Saratoga 3 contains 30 pages.

"Katijah must decide between Vandermann and the Saratoga."
