This article documents a currently unfolding situation within the fannish realm. Content may change quickly, and the page structure itself may undergo major revision. New details are very welcome.

SPECTRUM is a gen zine in the Voltron: Legendary Defender fandom, themed around "living transgender". The zine had several other proposed names which were voted on: "Form Voltrans!", "Identity", and "Voltron: Legendary Gender".[1]

The zine was proposed in early 2017 but as of July 2019 has not released yet. This is due to the original moderator Alibae dropping out of the project and deleting their social media[2], and the new moderator having to take on multiple tasks such as seeking cheaper print estimates and reformatting content to lessen the number of pages.[3]

SPECTRUM: A VLD Fanzine is a fanwork project composed of art and fics centering around the theme of living transgender. A vast majority of our creators are trans themselves, and we could not be happier to be presenting this zine to you!

  • Over 100 pages of art + fics
  • The PDF has all art created by our contibutors (some not seen in the physical copy), full fics (some not included in the physical copy and some excerpted for the sake of length), and NSFW works for those that specify they would like the NSFW copy (18+ only)
  • Customizable by the loving admin. If there is content you would not like to see, just let me know and I will email you a PDF without that content.
  • Will be emailed as a ZIP file after the close of preorders

Physical copy:

  • 5.5 x 8.5 inches
  • Perfect bound
  • Full color
  • Matte finish
  • SFW but note: there is a comic with a short nonsexual depiction of breasts. If asked to, I will sensor this with a sticker before mailing it to you.
  • This item is NOT customizable (aside from the sticker sensorship) and will contain some angst and romantic relationships between the characters.
  • Also includes PDF of choice with full excerpts and more art

All profits from the sale of this zine will go to benefit the True Colors Fund to end homelessness in our community.
