Reactions & Reviews
"Comic book fans get spoiled once again with a fascinating fan film: Spawn: The Recall. Exceeding all fan film production expectations, The Recall takes an interesting plot turn when it focuses its story on a mysterious woman and her son.
What really stands out for us in ‘The Recall’ is how the story flows along, the transitions between the real life and other world seamlessly natural. The attention to detail and especially sound, where we’re able the designers knew how to isolate the character’s mind between thoughts, real life and other worlds. Needless to say the visual effects are also a large part to the entire experience, and most of all, Spawn himself looks simple freakin’ awesome and true to the comics."[1]
"really really awesome!
I love what you did with that witch!!!!"[2]
"Amazing work!!, finally something that makes honor to the comic, it reminds me a lot of the comic and yet its alive on its own, congratulations."[3]
"Absolutely fantastic - and dead on with the Spawn vibe. The best Spawn comics always have Spawn as the boogeyman in the background and focus on someone else's stories, the mother here. And the clown-like taunting of her son leading to the hellscape it bleeds into is f***ing epic and horror-beautiful. Great film! Reminded me how much I love Spawn and what a film made in this vein."[4]
"It's an incredibly atmospheric eight minutes that builds to a grand (and horrifying) reveal of Spawn, followed by a supernatural surprise. The stylish execution is more in line with a low-budget horror film than a superhero summer blockbuster..."[5]
"Not really that familiar Spawn, but that was definitely well made."[6]
"Absolutely nailed it!!! Been waiting years for this to happen and it was done exactly how it should be....
I hope this inspires a full production one day that sticks to the original material in this comic-to-movie era we are currently in..."[7]
"That was actually really good, it was dark, gritty, introduced a new character to me. Awesome. Wouldn't mind seeing that made into a film."[8]
