Rough Comfort is a Professionals story by Anonymous.

It is paper circuit story and is a sequel to Consequences.

Reactions and Reviews

I came across a Paper Circuit copy of this story, and even with the beginnings of lines chopped off slightly managed to enjoy it! It's not a big fabulous read, but it's Doyle's view of Bodie who is coping with someone from his mercenary past appearing in his life again, and both of them coping with their recently begun sexual relationship, and it's nicely done. One or two things I read made me wonder if this was a sequel to something - Doyle says that Bodie knows he's played The Game, for example, with no other explanation for it, and since that certainly hasn't come from the eps then either we're left to assume things about them, or there is perhaps a prequel about the way they started their relationship. Sure enough, the ProsLib CD version tells me that this is a sequel to Consequences, although I have to be honest I don't see any connection or continuity between them - not considering the way Consequences ended - and I think I'd rather just read this as a stand alone fic, which I can easily do!
