The con's name derives from "801" which is a codeword for yaoi.

2014
In 2014, Room 801 was held on 22 - 23 February in Sydney, Australia.[1]
2015
In 2015, Room 801 was held on 28 - 29 March at the Holiday Inn Parramatta, Australia.[2] This year Room 801 added fanfiction and fanart contests.
2017
A website post and poll in 2017 suggests that there was some effort to organize a one day event that year, but no event appears to have materialized.[3]
