The pairing of Rodney McKay and Radek Zelenka is one of the few SGA pairings that bypasses the military characters. In canon, Rodney and Radek have an argumentative relationship, but there are signs of deeper comradeship between them. Zelenka is not intellectually intimidated by McKay, and McKay may actually respect Zelenka as a scientist. He just rarely says so out loud.
