Right Words is a fanzine dedicated to the NaruMitsu, the ship name for the relationship between Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth from the Ace Attorney video game series.
About
The zine was announced on March 31, 2023, on social media[1]. The project would be for profit, contain only safe for work content, and did not allow crossovers outside of the Ace Attorney universe. Applications for contributing artists and writers began on April 1, and ended on April 15[2]. Decisions were sent out by email the next day.
Preorders opened on July 7, 2023, with the following pricing tiers[3]:
- Save File ($20 USD) - PDF Zine
- Load State ($25 USD) - PHysical Zine, PDf Zine
- New Game ($50 USD) - Physical Zine, PDF Zine, Digital Emotes, Postcard Prints, Die Cut Stickers, Sticker Sheet, Shaker Charm
Stretch goals included writable washi stickers at 25 orders, bonus prints at 50 orders, a cover sleeve at 100 orders, and two additional acrylic charms at 150 orders[4]. An early bird bonus of an additional sticker was included for the first 50 physical orders[5]. A giveaway for a full bundle was run from the beginning of preorders sales to the end on August 1, 2023[6].
Throughout the produciton period, the project's social media account posted regular updates and previews of the merchandise and books as they had arrived to the shipping mod's address. Shipping was estimated to begin around December 12, 2023[7]. All physical orders were reported to have been shipped out by December 24, 2023[8].
The project's online store reopened for leftover sales from January 29, 2024, to February 29, 2024[9]. Upon the end of leftover sales, the project was declared complete and the account was archived[10].
