Retributon // Another Side is a zine centered around the character Ienzo (also known as Zexion) from the Kingdom Hearts games.

About

The zine was announced with an interest check starting on December 4, 2020[1]. Interest checks closed on December 21, 2020, prompting the launch of mod applications on the same day[2]. Mod applications closed on January 16, 2021[3]. Contributor applications for writers, visual artists, cosplayers, and merch designers began on January 23rd[4]. This round of applications closed on February 28th[5].

Preorders opened from June 30 to July 31, 2021, with the following pricing tiers[6]:

  • Midnight Snack ($15 USD) - Digital Zine, Digital Bookmarks, Desktop Wallpaper, Phone Wallpaper, Icons, Coloring Pages
  • Dear Diary ($30 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine
  • Book of Retribution ($45 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Mini Notepad, Die-cut Stickers, acrylic Charm, Mini Prints, Bookmark, All Stretch Goals
  • Arcane Compendium ($70 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Custom Tea Blend, Lexicon Keychain, Die-cut Stickers, Mini Notepad, Acrylic Charm, Mini Prints, Bookmark, All Stretch Goals

Digital merchandise was available for physical purchases for an additional $5 USD[7]. For an additional $13 USD, buyers could add a kanzashi-style bookmark to physical orders, although this item was limited to 20 units[8]. Stretch goals included washi tape at 50 orders, and an enamel pin at 75 orders[9]. Preorders were extended from July 31st to August 21st, then again to August 31st[10][11].

Shipping of orders began on May 2, 2022[12]. The last of bundles were shipped out by May 17, 2022[13]. Digital bundles were sent out on June 7, 2022[14].

The zine's store reopened for leftover sales from August 20 to September 20, 2022[15]. A donation of $85 USD made after production costs was donated to The Organization for Transformative Works[16].
