Issue 1

cover of issue #1, Joan Ahlstrom: "Reflection's"

Reflection's 1 was published in December 1990 and contains 117 pages.

The art is by Joan Ahlstrom, Dawn K., Ellen Siders, Keith Ahlstrom, Rita Terrell; color cover; the reverse sides of the 20 pieces of art are blank, making the total page count a bit misleading.

Readers should note that in two stories Catherine is dead and Diana appears as a friend.

From the editorial:

Once Upon a Time... I went to a convention for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST here in San Diego [1]. I made the amazing discovery that I WAS NOT ALONE in my love for this unique show and the incredible characters portrayed

in the series. I found out there were books called fanzines written and illustrated by fans for fans. I met wonderful people who became new friends. I began to dream.

This zine is the result of that dream. It is the work of many people who unselfishly gave of their time and talent. Thank you.

Reactions and Reviews: Issue 1

Poetry and various stories, Classic, 3rd and 4th season, introducing many new characters... In "The Dresser" by Mollard, Catherine acquires an old chest of drawers with love letters in it. In stories set in the 4th season, the focus is on either Jacob or Carol, a returning tunnel dweller who loved Vincent in childhood; Diana is a background presence. The apostrophe in the title is a possessive, not a plural. Had many nominations for Crystalline Rose Award 1991, and won for poetry (for Joan and Keith Ahlstrom's "Frost"). [2]

Reactions and Reviews: Issue 2

Classic, some 3rd season elements. In "Shall We Dance" by Joan Ahlstrom, Vincent is overwhelmed by jealousy upon seeing Catherine dancing in Mouse's arms. In "Memories" by Judi Mollard, we discover Catherine's dresser has a special meaning for a tunnel dweller. The 3rd season elements consist of several poems focused on Gabriel and a love letter from a surviving Elliot to Catherine (whom he believes dead), all by Keith Ahlstrom. Diana does not appear. ... The art is by Joan Ahlstrom, Ellen Siders, Lynette Combs, Anna Deavers-Kelley, Barbara Gipson and Sandy Chandler Shelton; in addition to portrait-style art, there are also occasional illustrations (e.g., a theater poster for the Delacorte Theater).

Reactions and the Reviews: Issue 3

"Spring Fever" by Ann R. Brown is an account of hijinks by one of the tunnel children. Wayne Kelley's "In the Watches of the Night" spins off from the end of "The Watcher;" it's also the first chapter of his planned novel, Give All to Love. Classic zine. [4]
