Reblogging is
the mechanism in blogging which allows users to repost the content of another user's post with an indication that the source of the post is another user.[1]
It enables a user to share content made by other creators without losing the original attribution. Reblogging is most often associated with Tumblr. The reblog button on Tumblr was previously at the top of each post but was later changed to be at the bottom of each post. This was done to increase ease of use.
Tumblr's 2015 Reblog Reformat
Prior to September 2015, Tumblr displayed reblogs as repeated block indents, with the original post highly indented. In September 2015, Tumblr changed the way that reblogs were displayed: instead of the nested indents, reblogs were displayed in a flat, consecutive view with each user's icon and username clearly displayed. This improved readability of threads as the previous nested view as it would become illegible with the grey banners.
Tumblr users reacted unfavourably to this, RP blogs in particular saying that it interfered with their storytelling.[citation needed]
