ReBoot is a Canadian CGI-animated action-adventure cartoon series that originally aired from 1994 to 2001.

Fandom

Its fandom was (and remains) small but fervent, especially since the rise of recent rumours of a film trilogy in the works, last officially confirmed at Vancouver Fanexpo in April of 2012.

Trends and Controversy

  • After the second season, production of new episodes was often delayed due to work on other series. The delay of seasons three and four caused massive uproar in online fandom.
  • The show was cancelled in the US after Disney purchased ABC in 1996, but continued to air on YTV in Canada. CITV in the United Kingdom began airing ReBoot in the mid-1990s, but never aired the last 7 episodes of season three or any of season four.
  • The show became progressively darker as the story progressed, with more violent and mature themes in later seasons.
