ratpackers is the Yahoo Group for the Ratpackers faction. The public group was formed on 22 May 1998. It was very active until 2000, and moderately active for the next couple of years, with only sporadic posts thereafter. There were no posts after 2010: the final posts were a call by Libratsie to members interested in playing in War Thirteen. The group has 35 members.
Group Description
A discussion list for Forever Knight fans, specifically for those who enjoy the rat-slurping carouche vampire named Screed and/or Greg Kramer, the actor who brought the bald-headed charmer to life. Discussion centers around Screed, Greg Kramer, Greg's other roles, Greg's books, rats, Forever Knight, and whatever other silliness comes up. Be warned - Ratpackers are known for their sense of humor so if you are looking for constant serious discussion, this is not the list for you. Forever Knight, for the uninformed, is a television series about a detective who happens to be a vampire but wants to be mortal again. Screed is NOT the detective. He's quite happy draining lil' ratsies of their blood, thank-you-very-much.

Yo, me droogies!Welcome to the Ratpackers an' Friends O' The Ratpackers (FoRps) jammy-jam loop.
Be sure tew set your peepers on' the info below an' save it fer future reference.
Tew unsubscribe from this list, go tew the ONElist web site, at www.onelist.com, and select the User Info link from the menu bar on the left. This menu will also let you change your subscription between digest an' normal-type o' mode.
If yewr mailbox starts bouncin' messages back for more then a few days, you'll be unsubscribed by the ListRatsie. 'Owever, feel free to re-subscribed when yew solve the problem.
RULES
Ain't really a lot o' rules as the Ratpackers ain't known fer bein' o' a mind to memorize them. Gives us a 'eadache. But there iz a few:
1) Keep it PG-13 on the list az we got a few underagers. If ya got sump'thing a
bit more mature-like, ya kin say so on-loop, but ya better get an age statement from the droogs wot ask to see it. 'Course John an' Libby should automatically get it cuz they's both adults (even if not mature) an' don't mind a bit o' naughtiness.
2) Absolutely no flamin'. We're the Ratpack. We ain't suppose to take things seriously. If ya ain't got a sense o' humor, best unsub from the list until ya can get one. They'se real cheap down at the swap meet or we'll be 'appy tew rent ya one (fer a price).
3) If yewr answerin' someone's post, don't quote the entire thing. Try to keep the "requotes" to six lines or less. Sometimes, a "private, just-tew-the-original sender" response might be more appropriate than a response tew the entire list.
4) Though we really don't have a "on-topic" rule, it is very easy to just hit "send" when you are on a mailing list. Therefore, ask yewrself if it is really sumpthin' most o' the Ratpackers will be interested in' - if so, feel free to share. If not, then don't. We don't want the volume o' the messages to get so high tha' people 'ave tew drop off because they can't handle it! Anything about Greg's numerous careerss (acting, writing, music, etc...) *IS* on topic and discussion is not only okay, but encouraged.
5) Fan fiction based on Greg's roles (Screed, Mr. Murphy from "Once a Thief," etc.) is most certainly allowed! As long as one of Greg's roles plays a primary
part in the story, Screed does not have to be in the story. Just remember, though, this is the Ratpacker list. DO NOT USE GREG HIMSELF **OR** ANY OF THE CHARACTERS IN HIS BOOKS OR STORIES AS CHARACTERS IN FAN FICTION WITHOUT PRIOR, WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM GREG KRAMER. Use of his literary characters without such an agreement could cause legal problems for Greg, the fan fiction author, and the list as a whole. Any fan fiction, poetry, filk or whatever must be PG-13 or below. Anything more adult can be announced on the list, but be sure to obtain an age statement before answering requests.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WOT IZ A RATPACKER? We follow tha' Forever Knight rat-sucking vampire named Screed, played by Greg Kramer. 'E's suppose ta 'ave bit the big 'un in the episode "Fever" when a white lab rat gave 'im a part-ic-ularly bad case o' indi-gest-tion. This may be, but us Ratpackers know 'e got better. Yew can find lots o' neat things about Screed at: http://users.lanminds.com/~callalily/screed.html
Now Greg Kramer wot por-trays Screed is a nifty sort. Duz all sorts o' thingees
includin' writing books, bein' a musician, actin', directin', magician.... For more info on this gent an' links tew LOTS of nifty Greg Kramer related stuff, go
tew:
http://users.lanminds.com/~callalily/greg_kramer/index.html(Be sure tew link over tew our guestbook an' sign it while you're on either website)
I THOUGHT RATPACKERS WERE MERCENARIES. We associate wit' the Mercs in on-line Forever Knight Fandom Wars fer sure. Fact iz, we live in the walls and basement o' Merc Central, but 'ave tunnels throughout Toronto an' a "vacation home" inside the kitchen cabients o' the Jeweled Peach (the Nunkies Anonymous shrine). All this transpires on the FORKNI-L and FKFIC-L Forever Knight lists. Jest think o' it as a once a year or
so on-line role playin' game. When the next one roles around, we'll announce it
on this list so you kin 'ave lots o' time to sign up.
WHO IS "THE LEADER O' THE PACK?" John Ewan. He believes 'e was the first to declare himself a Ratpacker the day or so after Screed's first appearance on FK. The character touched sumthin' deep and emotional in Johnsie. Many agree Johnsie is touched. As Leader, John only holds to one rule fer Ratpackers, "Dignity at all costs!" If ya wanna contact 'im directly fer one reason or anudder: [email protected]
WHO IS "THE LISTRATSIE?" Libby Singleton. She believes the only reason John beat her to bein' the first Ratpacker is cuz she didn't start watching until the premiere of the third season an' thus wasn't aware of on-line Forever Knight fandom yet. Her first reaction to the character was a pool o' drool about her feet. Everyone knows Libby is touched (though she wishes it wuz Screed doin' the touchin'). As second-in-UNcommand, Libby luvs to repeat one o' the Ratpackers' creedos, "It blowed up an' go BOOM!" Contact Libby at: [email protected]

You are the first one besides me to be on the new Ratpackers list. I just wanted to send a message to see if it comes through okay.

Final Message
The upcoming War mentioned in the post is War Thirteen.

Sep 26, 2010Hi Libby,
I'm gonna play, but I've already signed up with the Cousins.
And I don't think I'm going to be doing any writing - mostly beta reading, idea generating, and support this time around.
But, I know at least one of the Ratpack posts crosses over with the Cousins, right? So, I'm sure we'll be seeing each other in some capacity.
Hope it's a good war - hard to tell with it being #13, though.
