Stamping Community

Stamping Communities are communities, many on Livejournal, where fans get together, provide information and/or photos of themselves, and their fellow fans vote on which character in their fandom they are most like in looks or personality. Some communities are for general celebrity stamping or for related characters like Disney characters.

Some Examples of stamping communities are:

• disney_heroines - for all Disney animated film heroines
• potc_stamping - Pirates of the Caribbean
• lotr_stamping - The Lord of the Rings
• cminds_ratings - Criminal Minds
• stampmodhelp - general discussion for mods of stamping communities
• i11_rating - a short-lived LiveJournal-based stamping community for Inazuma Eleven

Types

• Mirror: stamping communities with a "mirror" theme would stamp based on physical appearance. Some other stamping communities asked participants to post pictures, and mirror communities also asked for applications, but photos were a key basis for sorting in mirror communities.
