Raphael, often going by the nickname Raph, is a fictional character from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. He is the usually second-oldest of his brothers and is characterized in most adaptations as being rude, hotheaded, and possessing anger issues, while still having a soft spot for his loved ones. He wields a pair of twin sai.

In Rise of the TMNT, Raph is the oldest of his brothers, and takes on the role of the leader. He is physically larger than his brothers, as his species is an alligator snapping turtle, and has the personality of a gentle giant. This Raph isn't entirely devoid of the anger issues that other iterations possess, but he has clearly learned to manage them, likely because he knew that he could easily hurt his brothers if he wasn't careful. He is the most training-focused of the brothers and seems to enjoy physical activity, but he also has hobbies such as knitting and collecting stuffed animals. As a leader, Raph isn't very strict, preferring to rely on his brothers' strengths and only call the shots as needed, rather than micromanaging. He only really takes command when he has a goal in mind, or if his brothers are in danger.
