An RP Journal is a journal on Livejournal (or one of its clones, such as Greatestjournal) which is treated as representing the played character (and thus, entries and comments made from that journal are considered to be in-character). In order to better control friendslist content and community membership, most RPGs require the creation of a new journal for the character, as opposed to using the personal journal of the player. Usually, the profile page of the RP Journal also includes an out-of-character disclaimer explaining that it's a fictional journal participating in an RPG.
