I swear, Blair Sandburg has endured more whumpage than a thousand other fandom characters. And, really, why hasn't anyone written Jim!whumpage? Where Blair comes and rescues the sentinel and slowly, lovingly helps him heal (possibly even with the powers of the almightly sex)? I'd really like to read that.Anyway, in this iteration of abuse!Blair!fic, Blair is kidnapped by persons unknown and tortured for days on end. By the time Jim finds him, Blair has retreated so far into himself that he can't even talk. It's up to Jim to help Blair find his way back.
Honestly, stories like these are the blaxploitation fic of Sentinel fandom. Undoubtedly a guilty pleasure, of course, but it satisfies all of those deep hidden cravings for extreme trust fic with a huge hunk of a man carefully, sweetly nursing his partner back to health. Plus, you know, a sugary topping of gay sex. Legion writes well, and the use of sign language is an interesting touch, but it's the sheer outrageousness of the plot and the delightful comfort part of the fic (which is, fortunately, the vast majority of the story) that really pays off in the end.[1]
