Programmers' Day (Russian: День программи́ста) is an international holiday to recognize and show appreciation for those involved in programming. Programmers' Day is always celebrated on the 256th day of the year, based on the number of possible distinct values that can be represented by an 8-bit byte. The day was recognized as an official holiday in Russia in 2009.

The day is celebrated in areas of online fandom to show appreciation for the programmers that develop and maintain the sites and systems that host fannish activities.
