Prelude in C# Minor is a Spock/McCoy story by Jon Kramer.

From the Author's Post

Hi folks, This story was posted a year ago to ASCEM, but it didn't make it into the main archive. Since there have been a few people here asking for more TOS stories and stories involving McCoy, I'm posting it for the first time here to ASC. It is archived on Ruth Gifford's Golden Orgasm website, http://home.earthlink.net/~ereshkigal/awardsgen.html.

Reactions and Reviews

Ahh, yes. The story that got *me* writing S/Mc. Woo!! Nifty original characters, barfight-fu, Vulcan cowboys, one of the more entertaining sexual positions *I've* ever tried <and enjoyed, btw> -- and just a marvelous depiction of the two of them drawing together after Jim is lost in the Nexus... Excellent. Two Dicks Up and an award for valour to boot. [2]

An interesting post-Generations meditation on the relationship between Spock and McCoy, and how it might change after their long-time friend Kirk is finally gone. The setting is interesting (Arizona) and well-drawn, and its dry, stark beauty informs much of this story. The tale wanders from low-brow humor and bar fights into much deeper waters, all the while sustaining itself and building a credible backstory for McCoy. Well written, and well worth reading. [3]

A story too good to be lost in the wide space of the internet. [4]

Oooo, jonk! You know I have a soft spot for anyone who introduces original characters, and you did a wonderful job! And of course, the canon folk are excellent as well. Loved the word play over food! [5]

This was the simply beautiful story that really converted me to the pairing. I'd always wondered about where the relationship between Spock and McCoy would go after Kirk disappeared into the Nexus and this fulfilled all my expectations. I particularly liked the way that Spock expressed this pairing as being his choice rather than the inevitable bonding he shared with Kirk. I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this romance. [6]
