Pentatonix is an a capella group that got its start by winning the 3rd season of the show Sing Off!. Its five members are Kevin Olusola, Avi Kaplan, Kirstie Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, and Scott Hoying. The group formed specifically for the Sing Off and became the 3rd season champions.[1] They're known for impromptu performances, many of which end up on youtube.

Covers

Pentatonix fanworks consist mostly of covers of the group's original or medley works (the group is itself famous for its creative covers). Pentatonix's original song "Run to You" is particularly popular.

Other fanworks

In 2013, Pentatonix became a Yuletide fandom[2], and several works for them were posted to An Archive of Our Own within the next 2 months[3].
