Reactions and Reviews
Remind me never to dare monkee to write something! This thoroughly improbable pairing results in an absolutely hysterical story, along with a clever twist at the end. [1]
Bwahaha! Of all the post-Endgame fics that 'fix' the Chakotay/Seven relationship, this one is certainly one of the most original! I'm not likely to forget the nekkid Bolian anytime soon. [2]
Monkee proves once again that there's nothing like a good Bolian bathroom joke. [3]
"Peacock Blue" is definitely a funny story with its indelible image of a very pungent Chell. But it's not all silliness. A lot of Seven's perceptions ring very true--about her and Chakotay's original reasons for attraction--and why it would seem to me they'd eventually fall away. Seven's stunned reaction to her discovery is just priceless and I loved her parting shot to Chell. Poor Seven. But fortunately Monkee makes it up to her;-) This is not a very alluring picture of Chakotay--but then that's the center of this piece's charm. And the ending was--well it was "perfection" [4]
Another example of monkee's wicked sense of humor. Surely this is the first (and, please God, only) example of this particular Chakotay infatuation. The ending leaves the reader smirking. [5]
I love this story! It is both very funny, very smart, and very sweet. Monkee has outdone herself on the dialogue here. It's sparse, but what there is of it, made me laugh out loud. I love the resolution, and the idea that nothing is as it seemed, but that that's still okay. Well done, monkee. As ever, your story charms me even as it makes me laugh! [6]
In her headnote, monkee says that I bear some of the blame for this story. Believe me, I'm happy to accept my share, as long as it results in stories as hilarious as this one. The J/7 fan in me loves Seven's second choice of partner. My favorite line: "Now Chakotay was enjoying Bolian bliss in a pungent desert cabin, and she was enjoying Kathryn in San Francisco." Bolian bliss, indeed! [7]
Hahaha! Monkee has definitely outdone herself here! From now on, I'll be sure to remember that anyone who dares her to write a story does so at their own peril! Chak certainly gets what he deserves for coming between Janeway and Seven -- but apparently, he enjoys it, inadequate plumbing and all. Heehee. [8]
Oh, dear. Who would have suspected the Bolian? This is so bad, but in a good way. [9]
