Particle Man is a famous Dragon Ball Z amv. First shown at Katsucon 2 in 1996, it has been been re-uploaded numerous places around the web since then.
History
This is by far the most prolific of any on my videos when it comes to online distribution. I've heard of it popping up in the oddest places and mentioned by more people than any other video. The original inspiration for this was an old Tiny Toons episode that featured two They Might Be Giants videos, Istanbul and Particle Man. The Particle Man video was basically a bunch of wrestlers and such beating up on Plucky Duck. I wanted to do a Dragonball video and the fighting connection seemed strong enough to pull off some sight gag comedy.

It's almost 15 years and since I recently got a Dragon Ball Z Remastered DVDs, I decided to create a remaster of this old AMV. This is my tribute. It's almost a frame-to-frame remaster (almost since in my movie there is an extra frame and to be honest I don't think it's necesary to fix this).

That being said, people absolutely did edit with multiple VCRs back in the day. Perhaps the most well-known Dragon Ball video produced this way is Duane Johnson's "Particle Man" video from 1996.reddit comment by VegettoEX [1]
