PacKage was a slash fanfiction mailing list in Star Trek: Voyager fandom, focused on the pairing of Paris/Kim.
Group description:
PacKage is a mailing list for authors of Paris/Kim Slash Fiction. This is a writer's list and forum, and is specifically for fiction, feedback, and P/K discussion..If you are interested in joining this list, please read the information below. After reading the guidelines and age requirements, please follow the link at the bottom of this page to request membership.
PacKage Guidelines:
We propose the following guidelines. While these may be altered slightly down the road, we do expect to have rather rigid posting guidelines to keep the group firmly focused towards P/K Slash.
To become a member, you must submit a NEW (not published anywhere else) P/K story to the moderators of this list prior to joining. This is so that we can keep the group focused on writing. If you have problems with this specification, please contact Mykkhal privately.
This is not a list for lurkers. We want active members. With that in mind, members also must meet these monthly requirements:
One Story Post and Two Feedback Posts
- OR***
Four Feedback Posts
Before you panic and think "No way!", just remember that is only one feedback post a week. Do that and you meet the guidelines. Easy enough right? We've done this because we believe feedback is critical to the writing process, both for improved writing, but also in encouraging the authors to write more. By having a monthly "quota", we believe it will not only help authors to receive the feedback they crave, but also stimulate more writing as well.
Feedback posts will be more than simple "I liked it" posts. We are looking for the 3 C's: critique, criticism, and compliments. In general, feedback posts should be a minimum of 50 words, which should get everyone providing better feedback. Think that sounds like a lot? It isn't. This paragraph, the one you are reading right now, is 60 words.
50 words just sounds worse than it is.The list is designed for fiction and feedback primarily. Discussion is allowable, provided it remains relevant to P/K, and hopefully to characterization, canon, episodes, etc. Private conversations are not considered "discussion" and will not be allowed. Challenge posts are acceptable, provided they are relevant to the list. Off topic posts are unacceptable. If truly unavoidable, they must be accompanied by a story "snippet" or other similar effort. A message board is available for other discussions or if a topic is not appropriate for general list distribution.
This is a flame free list. Criticism is fine, provided it is not an attack on the poster, but merely story criticism. We encourage discussion, even vigorous discussion, provided it doesn't get nasty or personal. If an author would prefer NOT to receive constructive criticism, they MUST specify that in the introduction to their story.
Guidelines will be enforced and members unable to comply will receive a warning, temporarily unsubscribed, or removal from the list permanently.
Age Requirements and Legal Stuff
This list is for adults only. It contains sexually explicit or suggestive material and is not suitable for minors. If you are not of legal age to view this material, you may not subscribe. Additionally, by subscribing, you declare you are legally entitled to view this material, and that you agree to hold the list moderators/administrators/etc., exempt from any and all legal proceedings.
The list was active in the late 1990s and was hosted on ONElist, whether the list continued after ONElist's mergers with e-Groups and then Yahoo is unclear. All fanfiction posted on the list was archived at PacKage - The P/K Writers List.
