Out of the Flames is a digest-sized 60-page explicit het digest-sized Beauty and the Beast (TV) novel by M. Sue Waugh.
It, like many zines in this fandom, contains literary references. The ones used here are by D.H. Lawrence.
Summary
A first time novelette which takes off from the final minutes of "Dark Spirit." In it, Vincent returns Catherine to her apartment and attempts to comfort her through her recovery from the drugs and horror of that experience, remaining Above for several days. [1]
This is an alternate time line story that deals with Catherine's struggle to convince Vincent that a sexual relationship is possible for them. Not Waugh's usual romantic look at Catherine and Vincent but a more realistic one. Tasteful consummation scene included. [2]
