Original Male Dog or OMD is a Supernatural fandom term that references the general fannish term Original Male Character. One of the show's actors has dogs in real life, and the real dogs have been written into fanfic, including bestiality fic; hence the need to mark whether a story features the actual named dogs or a fictional dog invented by the fic writer.
The term was in use as early as January 2010.[1] The first mention on fail_fandomanon was on October 15, 2012.[2]
