Reactions and Reviews
"Only the Sound Remains" by Linda McInnis -- After reading some of her other stories, I was eager to read this one. I was not disappointed! Good science fiction. The story was intriguing, the description vivid. Because of McInnis' talent for imagery, I can see why Spock was tempted by and drawn to Ryllen and her lovely underwater world. I'm looking forward to more McInnis stories.[1]
Linda McInnis' "Only the Sound Remains" -- I don't like "Spock in Love" stories. It seems to much like wish-fulfillment to me. It was VERY well written. I just couldn't buy the premise. I also found the use of lower case italics with very little punctuation to indicate the underwater speech slightly confusing. I had to read some passages twice to see who was talking.[1]
