One True Fandom is derived from the fannish term One True Pairing, and operates with a similar function - where the One True Pairing is a fan's favourite ship, the One True Fandom is a fan's favourite fandom. The term implies extreme devotion, and is often used to refer to the one fandom the fan will always hold dear to them, even as their other fandoms change. It is often the fan's longest-standing fandom, and one they will keep returning to regardless of how many new fandoms they discover.
Not all fans have a One True Fandom, but those who do invariably consider it their "ultimate" fandom, and the one they will never get tired of. Having a One True Fandom does not preclude a fan from enjoying other fandoms, but it does suggest that this fandom will always be a cut above the rest to them.
A person who maintains a One True Fandom may call themselves a "fandom monogamist".[1]

OTW volunteer and Fanlore editor Eskici has said, "I’ve been on a slow-but-consistent writing kick ever since I joined the Supernatural fandom, although my one true fandom will always be Harry Potter."[2]
