One Light, One Heart is a charity zine dedicated to the pairing SoKai from the Kingdom Hearts games.

About

The project first announced on February 14, 2020, that it would begin on June 2020[1]. Contributor applications for story writers, visual writers, and illustrators opened on July 18, 2020, and closed on August 22, 2020[2]. Acceptance emails were sent out on August 29, 2020[3].

Preorders opened on January 23, 2021, with the following pricing tiers[4]:

  • Oathkeeper ($10-15 USD) - Digital Zine, Cover Art Wallpaper, Avatars, Twitter Banners, Emojis
  • Letter in a Bottle ($25 USD) - Physical Zine
  • Paopu Promise ($35 USD) - Physical Zine, Acrylic Charm, Miniprint Postcards, Sticker Sheet
  • Wing of Light ($50 USD, Limited) - Physical Zine, Acrylic Charm, Miniprint Postcards, Sticker Sheet, Enamel Pin, Acrylic Standee, Rings on a Necklace

For $5 USD, the first 25 "Wings of Light" bundle preorders were eligible to adding a handmade kanzashi hairpin[5]. Stretch goals included a gold foil cover upgrade at 25 orders, a die-cut sticker at 50 orders, and a heart shaped button at 100 orders[6]. A giveaway for a "Wings of Light" bundle ran on January 29, 2021, to February 2, 2021[7]. The winner of the giveaway was Tumblr user colt=kin[8]. Preorders closed on March 7, 2021[9].

Shipping of physical preorders began approximately after June 16, 2021, as indicated in an update announcing that packing had been completed[10]. All physical orders were shipped out by July 5, 2021[11]. Digital bundles were sent out on July 5, 2021[12].

On July 6, 2021, the project's social media account posted that $2,722.09 USD made from preorders had been donated to One World Children's Fund[13]. The project opened its digital storefront for leftover sales on July 11, 2021, and closed on August 11, 2021[14]. After closing leftovers, the project's social media account announced on August 23, 2021, that $1,301.99 USD made from second sales was donated, bringing the donation total to $4,024.08 USD to One World Children's Fund[15].
