Reactions and Reviews
Most of the fiction in this Classic zine is by Pristo. Mostly G, with flashes of R. The prose style is a bit awkward. A sampling: [of Vincent as a lover:] "...he teased and tantalized with his skillful technique he had mastered quite proficiently." (p. 25); "No words he had ever read could have prepared him for...all the emotion and passion he had endured with pleasure since they had began a physical relationship." (p. 35); "The feeling of his velvet fur against her creamy soft flesh drove her mad with passion." (p. 37); "The velvety soft fur against her creamy flesh sent shivers along her body." (p. 89). The earnest, well-intentioned stories and anecdotes generally center on some unfortunate rescued from his/her misery either by C or V, who takes the unfortunate to the tunnels, whereupon all is well and V/C celebrate with fairly detailed sex. Jamie and Mouse devising a target a blind boy can shoot arrows at is ingeniously imagined (Carol Mayberry's "The Fledgling"). Father's birthday and a brief wedding are celebrated. There's an interview with Armin Shimerman by Pristo and quite a lot of verse by Carole Mayberry. Other verse by Suzi Dean, Sara Conklin, Keith Ahlstrom, Kelly Shlemon. Other fiction by Wayne Kelley, Sharon Reynolds, Snow Dancer, Carole Mayberry. Art by Anna Deavers Kelley, Jan Durr, many unidentified others. Quite a lot of computer graphics, too. [1]
