Omochao is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, introduced in Sonic Adventure. He is a robot, modelled after the species of magical creatures known as Chao. Omochao made his debut in the game Sonic Adventure, acting as a marshal in the Chao Racing minigames, and was promoted to support character in the sequel Sonic Adventure 2.
Reception
Omochao's role as a tutorial character produced a vocal hatedom for the character, with many fans considering him annoying, not helped by the proximity-activated character's positioning in levels, making him hard to avoid. The hatedom quickly began producing Character Bashing works, most notably Mako-chan's Adventures With Omochao series, which spawned a number of spin-offs and imitators.
