This is a really old fic, from 1998. It's set in a vaguely dystopian future, but it's not depressing. It's about Ray and Fraser as old men, still snarking at each other and being best friends, even in a future where things maybe aren't always so great. I like it for the back and forth banter, the clever design of the world it's set in, and the fact that it's not an established romantic relationship story. It's a story about finally saying all of the things left unsaid over years and years of partnership--it's a little bittersweet, but mostly it's adorable. [1]
