Reactions and Reviews

As always, another wonderful story by Trexphile. Full of humor and kept me guessing.I love to read this story over and over again. It's wonderful written (as always) and deals with the couple in taste. Excellent![1]

This story has a great opening line. The author knows how to get the reader interested and keep them reading. I liked the way she gave us both Picard's and Crusher's reaction to the same dilema - a naked wedding. [2]

This has to be one of my favorite P/C fics of all time. Trexphile has a light comedic touch that's evident throughout this fic. And I won't be forgetting Picard's "turkey neck" any time soon. Great job! [3]

BWA! Priceless. Hilarious. I laughed, I cried, I shared it with a friend. Gives a whole new dimension to that line in Nemesis where they're on the way to Betazed for the wedding and Picard goes off the bridge saying "I'll be in the gym." [4]

"Not Good, Not Good At All" was a very fun story as well as a pleasure to read throughout with more than one laugh-out-loud moment. Picard's reaction to being told of a certain custom and that both he and Beverly would need to participate was priceless. (In fact, I could not help but think of this story when I saw "Nemesis." Remember when Worf is complaining about Betazoid tradition and Picard tells him he shouldn't worry--and then says "I'll be in the gym." LOL) And Beverly's babbling reaction was pretty fun too And her moments before the mirror. Well, I could empathize with their reaction--and the remedy. It was lovely to read a TNG piece with a good sense of humor and the electric awareness between Picard and Crusher is very well conveyed by the shifting perspectives. The ceremony itself is hilarious. I particularly liked the scene between Picard and Crusher after the ceremony. There is a nice moment when they were discussing yet another tradition when Picard makes an admission to her. Trexphile treds the line well between the two--romantic, but not cloyingly, sugary sweet. Trexphile certainly makes me feel fully that Picard and Crusher fears that this is "not good, not good at all" but the story itself is very good, very good indeed. [5]

Bwa ha ha ha!! When I think Picard/Crusher stories, I do not immediately associate that pairing with really wild humor. But Not Good, Not Good at All is a wonderfully hilarious and yet still romantic romp through the preparations for a naked Betazoid wedding. The concept all by its lonesome pretty much ratchets up the humor potential but Trexphile really pulls out all the stops in this story. And I couldn't help but feel much of the uncertainty and anticipation that Picard and Crusher did as they got ready for the actual ceremony. And what happens at that ceremony, well that's when it gets truly hilarious. It's laugh out loud fun time! The playful dialogue, the nasty goings on, the overwhelming ummm nakedness. LOL! Just great! I'd quote my favorite parts if I didn't think it would spoil the fun for others. And I'd hate to do that because this was one fun read! Thank you for the laughter and the "awwww" smiles.[6]

This piece is so...visual. Jean Luc's neck. Beverly's belly and "titties." Two male butts (one, I suspect, much firmer than the other). Genital guard duty (Boy, you don't get much more "visual" than that!). I always enjoyed the references to the Betazoid wedding ceremony, which was probably a throwaway concept, but it was really fun to see it described so well so that it seemed like it could actually happen. Given Lwaxana's proclivities, it's easy to see how this might actually work! And this story works very well, too. I've really always loved R/T, but this story makes it easy to appreciate P/C as well. Very nicely done--except for the title. It's not truth in advertising; this story is certainly very good indeed. [7]
