Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water is a Japanese adventure-steampunk anime television series inspired in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and other works by Jules Verne.
In June 29, 1991 a 87-minutes film was released with story by Hideaki Anno, and screenplay by Yasuo Tanami and Yū Kō (composition). And in 18 de February de 2003 a collection with 10 special episodes was released.
Canon
In an 1889 alternative universe, two young girls, 14-year-old orphan Nadia and Jean a warm French inventor are pursued by Grandis Granva, Sanson e Hanson, a group of jewel thieves interested in Nadia's Blue Water pendant. Rescued by the submarine Nautilus and its commander Captain Nemo, both Nadia and Jean and the thieves must join forces against the neo-Atlanteans, who aim to take over the world.
