Nabyn was a general-purpose social art site for drawing and painting. A significant proportion of its members drew furry artwork.

Artistic nudity was permitted, but sexual content was not; nor was photography, except of 2D artwork.[1] Registration required an invitation code, which were given to active users on the site.[2]

In January 2015, Nabyn transitioned from nabyn.com to nabyn.net with a new layout and features.[3] Nabyn.net kept the beta status and invite code system from Nabyn.com, but, unlike other art sites, gave user-run communities a more prominent focus.[4]. For a time, Nabyn.com was still active, though users of the old site were encouraged to transfer to Nabyn.net using codes given out by site admin Kameloh,[5] and Nabyn.com site development ceased in March 2012.[6]

With only eight days warning, Nabyn officially shut down on September 7, 2016, due to the developer not having the time or energy to upkeep the site.[7]
