Emily here dove into Kira's past, making use of the second Ghemor episode and what it told us about Kira's father, and putting a new spin on it that makes it more understandable all around. A little disjoint at the beginning and end, because it is told as a flashback, the story otherwise manages to span Kira's thirty-or-so years nicely. An f/f relationship came and went -- a theme in Emily's Kira works? :) -- and I was pleased to see that she was not stiff or heavy-handed with it, though I don't want to get into *that* debate again. The characters rung true, the little touches collected from many shows gave this one ...the story equivalent of good karma. Brava! [1]
