Mort Weisinger (April 25, 1915 – May 7, 1978) was active in early science fiction fandom. He was a member of The Scienceers and contributed to their clubzine The Planet. Along with a few other fans, he edited The Time Traveller.
In 1936, he joined Standard Magazines and became a pro editor for magazines like Thrilling Wonder Stories, Startling Stories and Captain Future[1]. In March 1941, he moved on to work as an editor for DC Comics (formerly National Periodical Publications) where he worked on Superman but also co-“invented“ the characters Aquaman (together with Paul Norris) and Green Arrow.
