McCormick, Take Two is a gen 94-page Hardcastle and McCormick novel by Rowena Warner
Summary
From the distributor, Agent With Style:
Judge Hardcastle is suddenly, unexplicably attacked and beaten by an angry Mark McCormick. Sick and hurting, pissed and deeply confused, Hardcastle later confronts the hapless ex-con, who professes his innocence and presents an unprovable alibi. Hardcastle, now unsure in the face of Mark's strong claims, retreats back to the main house. But when it happens a second time, he knows it's Mark and throws the undeserving bum off the estate. How dare the ingrate do such a cowardly thing to the very man who had gotten him out of prison and treated him -- eventually -- like his own son? Hurt in spirit as well as body, Hardcastle must face the possiblity of the rest of his life alone -- and Mark, also hurt and angry, determines to find out what the hell is going on.
