Marigold's Recommendations was a Lord of the Rings recommendations site founded c. 2003. The recommendations focused on hobbit stories, particularly those starring Merry and Pippin. Recs were divided into 'Best Bets' and others. Recommended stories were entitled to display an icon depicting a marigold, presumably by analogy with award buttons.
It was a member of the LotR Fanfiction webring.

Marigold's Challenges
Monthly challenges were posted to the site by Marigold. In announcing their suspension, Marigold wrote:
The Challenges had a good, long run of nearly four years and were responsible for almost 900 hobbity fics so I shouldn't be sad, but they are near and dear to my heart and hopefully we will be able to get them going again in a few months.[1]
Forty challenges were archived at the site. The challenges moved to livejournal, Marigold's Tale Challenges Archive, described as: This is the new home of Marigold's Tale Challenges. All future Challenges will be posted here, and eventually there will be links to all previous Challenges on this site.[2]
Responses to a further six challenges were posted at the livejournal in June-November 2007. Marigold announced the end of the challenges in January 2008.[3]
