mandc_read was a discussion community on Dreamwidth and LiveJournal. The name stands for 'M and C Read', M&C being fannish shorthand for the 2003 film Master and Commander: the Far Side of the World. The original LiveJournal comm mandc_read was set up in 2007, with the tagline The Patrick O'Brian Readthrough of the World! We are reading through Patrick O'Brian's Aubreyad books, one chapter a week, and discussing them here. Please join in![1]
Originally set up on Livejournal and later moved to Dreamwidth, the community was designed to read through the 20 completed novels in the Aubreyad series of books by Patrick O'Brian. The first read-through finished in 2012 and the second read commenced later that same year, concluding in June 2017.
