What about Wintershock as a pairing appeals to you?
I love that Darcy and Bucky have a lot of room for growth as characters. She has a lot less back story and structure attached to her in canon which makes her so much fun to build up. And Bucky post-fall obviously has a major journey ahead of him. And I love the variety of dynamics you find in their pairing. Everyone writes their relationship a little differently which makes for a delicious wealth of reading material and inspiration.
How did you first encounter the pairing?
I think it popped up when I was looking for shieldshock stories. At this point I’m not sure if I actually watched CATWS first, or if I started reading SteeleHoltingOn’s Ice and Fire and then watched the movie. But once I got into wintershock I became way more invested in the fandom as a whole. Tasertricks was a light gateway drug but wintershock made the addiction stick.
What kind of Wintershock story would you love to read that hasn’t been written yet by you or others?
I was joking with a friend about an Empire Records AU. I would be super into reading that. It’s a movie I know by heart and I’m definitely having a moment with AUs right now. Plus I love a story full of group dynamic with romantic side stories. And banter. Give me all your banter!
I’ve also always wanted to write/read a haunted house story, but I’m honestly not even sure what that would entail. I enjoy writing horror and I love reading supernatural stories. So bring me all your creature fics too!
