Lynda Mendoza is a Man from U.N.C.L.E. fan.

She was a zine editor, a fanfic writer, the president of the Official David MacCallum Fan Club, and a huge collector of MUNCLE memorabilia.

Lynda published The McCallum Observer and was the founder of SpyCon.

Collection Now in Iowa

Her Man from U.N.C.L.E. collection is now housed at the University of Iowa Fanzine Archives. See Lynda Mendoza Collection of David McCallum Memorabilia. This collection was donated by Lynda Mendoza in February 2010. It was processed in July-September 2010. An addendum to the collection was donated by Mendoza and processed in January 2011.

This collection was mentioned in a 2015 blog post by Iowa.

While the major additions to the Iowa collection took place in 2010, it appears that the U of I had been collecting things from the 70s and 80s, if less officially than the project in 2000s...

There is a 1987 request from Lynn Mendoza that reads:

To all UNCLE zine editors and writers: How would you like to donate your zines to a permanent UNCLE file so all fans (past, present and future) have access to it for research on the shows and David McCallum's career? Dueing the the 70s, Norman Felton donated all his papers (for Arena Publications) to the University of Iowa, Main Libraries, Special Collections Library... and we have been adding to it to keep it up to date.

A fan in 2016 speculated:

She had been a David fan since she was about six and ran his fan club forever, then when NCIS got hot, he asked her to stop. I suspect the network was behind it, but it crushed her. I was under the impression that was the reason behind the donation. of course, I could be wrong.
