"Love Is a Battlefield" is a 16 page PGP story by Julia Stamford. The story is interesting with original twists and turns. But because it focuses almost totally on Avon and his mental and emotional problems, I'm not that enthralled by it. I would not label this story erotic.[1]
Oh god - so. PGP fics where Avon gets blamed for shooting Blake are somewhat of a bugbear of mine, so I find it difficult to be objective. But I can't bear the fact that Blake rapes him and all the other characters still treat Blake like he's an OK bloke who was probably equally if not more wronged. Not OK. Ugh. Regressed!Avon (because he goes back to being a child after the rape) is adorable, although Avon-raped-as-a-child is also one of my not-favourite-things. I like that Blake sort of gets a chance to redeem himself by reacting with horror when child!Avon tries to kiss him - that part is good. They do turn Avon back, but nobody says it's because they'd miss the real Avon (except Avon himself one he's back). Which makes me so sad :( [2]
