Love Amidst the Ruins is a Jim/Blair story by boyd.

Reactions and Reviews

What if Jim and Blair were post-apocalyptic freedom fighters? Jim/Blair. Okay, basically this fic is just awesome. Jim and Blair, hunting aliens in the jungle, moving from tree to tree in a post-apocalyptic world of the future. Kinky in some places, just freaking cool in others.[1]

I resisted Sentinel fandom for a very long time, and this was the first story I read where I found myself musing over the possibilities. boyd has captured the sensations of the jungle; the descriptions make the danger and the situations palpable, visceral, and very powerful. In this AU, Jim and Blair are freedom fighters in a future where aliens rule the earth, and the fellas are free to be their most primal selves in service to their cause. An excellent story.[2]

A post-apocalyptic setting, SF-action-adventure with Jim and Blair in leather gear fighting in a jungle against aliens with the help of high-tech gadgets and a telepathic bond that also includes a battle cat... it sounds totally cheesy, and yet the story is well written fun, the descriptions vivid and the setting interesting, so that I suspended my disbelief and got pulled into this bleak world. The initial exposition parts may be a bit too concentrated for some, but I love world building, so I had no objections to them.[3]
