Reactions and Reviews

Continued Classic. The love affair of Vincent and Catherine, told via flashbacks by various characters, on the occasion of Vincent's 45th birthday celebration. Vincent and Catherine are married, but he and his lookalike son Jay Jay live Below while Catherine continues her career Above. Their first child, Crystal, resembles her mother. Edie babysits. The flashbacks are occasionally confusing and the living arrangements strain a reader's suspension of disbelief, but the characters are insightfully written, and the love scenes smoke.[3]

This novella starts 10 years in the future on the day of Vincent's surprise 45th birthday party. Through flashbacks from our favorite Tunnel characters, we see how Catherine and Vincent worked out their problems, were married, and arranged their life to meet the demands of both worlds. We also learn of another girl (besides Lisa) who played havoc with a teenage Vincent's emotions; the birth of his and Catherine's two children, and there's even a visit from The Other. [4]
