Jan says: Check out Lost in Translation, an Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon slash story by Helen. If you ever wondered how Qui-Gon would be as a pleasure slave, this story has your answer. (A hint: he's cranky and pushy.) It's a funny, sweet story, and Helen has an understated style of writing dialogue that I think is interesting.[1]
This may not be the world's greatest literary masterpiece, but damn it, it's entertaining as hell.I like this story mainly because it's one of the few PleasureSlave!Qui stories out there, and of course because it takes the pleasure slave concept out for such a lovely and funny spin. Summarising: Qui-Gon gets brainwashed into believing that he's Obi-Wan's pleasure slave. Hilarity ensues. The story is by turns hot, witty, outright funny, cute and romantic. It makes me smile, laugh, sigh and get hot and bothered in turns, and sometimes all of it in one scene. It's gentle comedy and sublte romance. It's an old concept done in an interesting way. It's one of the stories I can re-read often and still like as much as I did the first time around.
Sadly, as far as I know, this is the only TPM story Helen has written. I would like to be proven wrong, though.[2]
Two Jedi go on mission. One of them is then turned into the pleasure slave... Cliche, isn't it? No. It's not. Helen took the most stupid cliche of the TPM fandom and made of it that brilliant, humorous story. It's funny. It's witty. It has a great style. I heartily wish Helen wrote more in that fandom. Unfortunately "Lost in Translation" is a one-fic-stand. Enjoy![3]
One of my favorite starts to a story:"Six down, eight to go," Obi-Wan said and fell heavily onto the couch.
"They're banquets," Qui-Gon said mildly, "so perhaps it's unnecessary to act as though someone's attempting to separate your fingernails from your body."
With an opening like that, you know you can expect a rollicking good time, which Helen delivers. I was chortling at almost every line.
Qui-Gon is mind-wiped and becomes Obi-Wan's pleasure slave. Instead of relaxing and enjoying it (as you certainly will), Obi-Wan is worried about what will happen when Qui-Gon regains his memories.
Obi-Wan is tempted by Qui-Gon's increasingly blatant seduction, but our Padawan has will power stronger than duranium. Qui-Gon does manage to provoke one scorching kiss that you won't forget, but they make it back to the Healers before Obi-Wan crosses the line.
When Qui-Gon is back to normal, they settle into an uneasy détente; this episode has unearthed feelings for one another that neither of them has ever acknowledged.
Can they return to the easygoing relationship they had before, especially since they now know the taste of each other?
Helen's story is every bit as delicious as that taste.

Qui-Gon thinks he's a bed slave. His personality stays the same though, and the combination is quite hilarious. [5]
An alien race programs Qui-Gon to think he's Obi-Wan's pleasure slave. Of course, Obi-Wan is Jedi and is therefore noble and is able to resist the siren call of smut. For a while, at least. *g* Glorious cliche!fic! In fact, this is the kind of fic that makes me adore cliche!fic. The plot's contrived, sure, but the story is lovely and gentle and makes you fall in love with Obi-Wan all over again. And slutty Qui-Gon is always fun.[6]
lost in translation, by helen. qui/obi, r, sw:tpm. some well-meaning aliens program qui-gon to think he's a pleasure slave (temporarily). obi-wan's control is tried. also features the trademark incomplete sentences (trademark of helen), bruck who's grown up and okay, and obi-wan being an actual adult, competent and sort of dimensional.[7]
In which Qui-Gon ends up as a pleasure slave for a change. Favourite line "It was possible to alter perception, but not basic nature, which explained the reason that Obi-Wan, instead of having a intractable, insubordinate Master, now had an intractable, insubordinate pleasure slave." I love the relationship in this story, based on a basic compatibility between the two of them. It's rather unusual.[8]
