Some Excerpts
I didn't get hooked on L&C until I found the reruns on TNT, after the show was cancelled. So, I suppose you could call me a "Jill-come-lately." When it first aired, I thought, "oh, a Sunday night show for kids." Caught an episode here or there, but it didn't grab me until I finally noticed the *romance* angle of the show. *That's* when it clicked for me.
Only L&C so far, as the romance angle caught my attention. However, I have enjoyed Star Trek fanfic (all kinds, all series). I've enjoyed exploring the Next Generation of L&C, because it opens up fresh possibilities and I love the family I created for them. I've mainly stuck with a combination of Next Generation/nfic, but one of my current projects has drama/action as well.
Nfic is fun to write. It's also a lot harder than you would think, if you'll pardon the pun. At least, it's difficult to write quality nfic. As with the action sequences, I have to stop and think about who's left elbow is where at this point in the story <g>. It can't all be heaving bosoms and graphic descriptions. At that point, it simply becomes pornography. The best nfic combines all the elements, so that the sexual segments are part of the whole and reveals something new about the story or the characters.
