Lightning in a Bottle is a zine for the character Larxene from the Kingdom Hearts games.

About

The project was first announced on March 18, 2021[1]. Applciations opened for artists and writers from April 14 to April 30, 2021[2].

Preorders opened on September 2, 2021, with the following pricing tiers[3]:

  • Lightning Strike ($10 USD) - Digital Zine, Desktop Backgrounds, Phone Backgrounds, Icons
  • Basic Bitch ($20 USD) - Physical Zine, Stretch Goals
  • Girl Boss ($25 USD) - Physical Zine, bookmark, Mini-Prints, STicker Sheet, Stretch Goals
  • Killer Queen ($35 USD, Limited to 30)- Physical Zine, Acrylic Standee, Sticker Sheet, Mini-Prints, bookmark, Digital Zine, Digital Merch, Stretch Goals

Stretch goals included die-cut stickers at 30 orders, and an acrylic keychain at 55 orders. The limited bundle sold out within a day of preorders opening, and were restocked with 30 more copies on September 3rd[4]. A giveaway for a limited bundle was run from September 27 to September 30, 2021[5]. The winner of this giveaway was Twitter user HalfPint_Prince[6]. Preorders were expected to end on September 30, 2021, but were extended to October 15[7].

Physical orders began shipping approximately after March 31, 2021[8]. Digital Bundles were mailed out on April 22, 2022[9]. Leftover sales ran from May 2 to June 6, 2022[10].
