I don't know if this story has received the attention it deserves - everyone always wonders what happened to Tom Riker, but this story very cleverly SHOWS us. I thought Garak was well-written, I thought all the characters were true to life and were written in a way that shows understanding and respect for them. And I have a problem finding Jake interesting as a character - but not in this story. [1]
