Lest is a Vastaya, a chimeric humanoid, in her case, with cat characteristics (like League of Legend's Ahri, who is a fox chimera). She works for Mel, bringing her information.
Fanon and tropes
Although not explicit in the show, Lest has been confirmed as trans by her, also trans, voice actress, Eve Lindley. As such, the vast majority of fans took this as Word of Gay.
On 16th March 2025, Mel Medarda's Voice actress, Toks Olagundoye, shared that she thought Mel and Lest could be lovers post-Arcane, after Lindley pondered on what Lest could be doing after the show, encouraging fans of the pairing.[1]
