In May 2022, the CW announced that Legacies had been cancelled and that the upcoming Season 4 finale would also serve as the series finale.[1] In response, fans started a revival campaign using the hashtag #SaveLegacies on social media encouraging other production studios such as Netflix to pick up a fifth season of the show.[2] As of June 6, 2022, a change.org petition had nearly 35,000 signatures.[3]
