After the first film, many fans assumed that Lawrence had become Jigsaw's apprentice. The main reason for this theory being that the man who placed the key behind Michael Marks' eye (Saw II) was limping. The directors have stated that this was not the intention at the time, but it was revealed since that Lawrence Gordon is alive.
